Where To Go On A Motorcycle Tour

The best thing about going on any motorcycle holiday is just how easy it is to set it all up. Being in the UK, all you have to do to get something organised is get yourself online and book a ferry either to the continent or Ireland and you're ready to go.

Of course, you can make it even simplier than that if you fancy having a holiday in your own country. Touring the Highlands of Scotland makes for a motorcycling holiday that is hard to beat anywhere in the world and its all on your own doorstep. With the pound being so weak against the Euro these days its making even more sense than ever to tour the UK rather than seek out adventures on foreign climes.

Of course there is something alluring about packing up your stuff and heading off to lands where they speak a different language, live a different lifestyle and enjoy a better climate. If your fed up with your everyday life in the UK and want to see a bit of the sun then its easy enough to book a ferry crossing over the Channel to explore the splendor of Europe.

Motorcycle Touring

I first became interested in the idea of taking motorcycle tours way back when I was at school reading "zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance". That was a long time ago and it was only a couple of years ago that I bit the bullet and went for my motorcycle test.

Being put off by so many people telling me how dangerous motorcycling was I had pushed the idea of getting a bike to the back of my head. Don't get me wrong I still went touring I just did it in a car rather than a motorcycle which all you bikers know just isn't the same thing. Sure traveling by car can be awesome too and if you've never riden a bike then setting off to new places in your car is about as exciting as life gets.

Get a taste for travel on a motorcycle though and the joy of car touring soon disappears into the background. You really can't beat the feel of the open road when your cracking along on your bike. Being so exposed to the elements makes you feel like you are really part of the traveling experience rather than the spectator you are when traveling in a car.
